Am not taking any more bookings in 2011 as Di lost her valiant struggle against breast cancer in April.
The Longère will still be available for friends and family in 2012 but not the Sweet Little House or Laquairie. So if you’d like to stay in the Longère, just e-mail me or phone, you’ll be most welcome.

Because of the downturn in the economy and the higher value of the euro against the pound (& dollar), we’ve decided to leave our prices as they were in 2007 and 2008 so that our houses cost no more next year than last. We hope it helps!

As every year, we continue with those small improvements that make our houses that bit better. New bathroom tiling in one, a new wood-burner in another, and painting in them all. Sometimes just a touch-up, sometimes Di redecorates a whole room. This winter too, we are looking after our houses as we have for the past 15 years. It keeps them fresh and bright. Having stayed in more than one down at heel property, we feel very strongly about ongoing maintenance.

And now we’re on the glide path to Christmas. Di will be making a lightning visit to the UK to see her mother plus other family and friends in Devon. Our daughter & son-in-law will be with us from 20th until the New Year, which will be wonderful.  And so from the blue skies and snow of Auvergne, a very Happy Christmas to one and all and we hope to see you in 2009!

Having just updated our web site, we decided to add a Blog to tell the world what’s happening here in Auvergne and post the latest news on our cottages.

One of the great pleasures of living in France is being able to eat out well and inexpensively.
